About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Protection Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our Grid Solutions department, you will be responsible for providing protection designs, solutions, and technical feedback to contracts in all areas within the employee's business area and delivering departmental work packages on time and to budget.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop protection and control schematics for up to 400kV associated with LTS.
  • Create protection and control designs for LVAC, LVDC, and UPS equipment associated with LTS.
  • Produce cable sizing calculations and create relay configurations and associated documentation.
  • Produce Engineering and Test Specifications for new and existing solutions.
  • Attend internal and external design reviews for technical recommendations.
  • Produce protection Compliance Matrices, Design Intent Documents, Equipment Technical Specifications, and Functional Design Specifications.
  • Input in the production of design risk assessments for all design solutions, ensuring all design risks and HAZIDS are identified and controlled, and ensuring full compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure quality and consistency by carrying out functional testing during the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) phase with the client.
  • Assist in mentoring new members of the engineering department.
  • Maintain consistency of design on each contract by alignment to processes and procedures.
  • Attend Technical meetings with the client as and when required.
  • Work collaboratively with all engineering departments and project managers within Siemens ET.
  • Actively input to T2W and Top+ business improvement programme within the Engineering Department.
  • Dedicate to Siemens Think Customer initiative, including excellent call handling and voice mail skills.
  • Continuously review engineering processes and procedures to improve and recommend changes.
