About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Locum Consultant to oversee the older persons' psychiatric inpatient wards at Longreach House, Redruth. This position is ideal for a psychiatrist specialising in older adults and inpatient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the clinical workload within the ward areas, including providing professional supervision to junior medical staff.
  • Support the education and training of junior medical staff to ensure high standards of clinical practice.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of clinical activities.
  • Engage in service and business planning for both hospital and community adult services.
  • Participate in annual appraisals for consultants and in job plan reviews with the Medical Director.
  • Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services.
