Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Trainee Nurse Hysteroscopist. This is a developmental role working towards becoming a fully qualified and experienced Band 7 Nurse Hysteroscopist upon completion of the Diagnostic Hysteroscopy and Therapeutic Management Course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake nurse-led outpatient hysteroscopy clinics under supervision of an independent practitioner, adhering to guidelines/protocols and requirements of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.
  • Gain experience in using advanced nursing skills and expert knowledge to determine the physical and emotional needs of women acting as their advocate within the hysteroscopy service.
  • Formulate a plan of care for women referred to the hysteroscopy service, including a full history, ordering and interpreting investigations, undertaking clinical examination, and performing hysteroscopy under the remit of an independent practitioner.
  • Administer and dispense drugs in accordance with Patient Group Directions (PGDs) or undertake independent prescribing dependent on qualifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Mentor Preparation course, Teaching & assessing qualifications or equivalent (ENB 998 / C & G 7307).
  • A healthcare degree or evidence of working towards one.
  • Evidence of continuing education and professional development.
  • Extensive post-registration experience at AFC Band 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and work as a member of a team.
  • Evidence of change management.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed-term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to being an apprenticeship/training programme. The fixed-term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed-term contracts.
