Nurse Hysteroscopist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to be part of a friendly, dynamic, multidisciplinary team in the role of trainee Nurse Hysteroscopist.

• Undertake nurse-led outpatient hysteroscopy clinics under supervision of an independent practitioner working to guidelines/protocols and requirements of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.
• Gain experience in the use of advanced nursing skills and expert knowledge to determine the physical and emotional needs of the women acting as their advocate within the hysteroscopy service.
• Formulate a plan of care for the women referred to the hysteroscopy service to include a full history, ordering and interpreting investigations, undertaking clinical examination, and performing hysteroscopy under the remit of an independent practitioner.
• Administer and dispense drugs in accordance with Patient Group Directions (PGDs) or undertake independent prescribing dependent on qualifications.

The successful applicant will be supported to use their own initiative working with key stakeholders to develop the Nurse Hysteroscopy Service within the Jessop Wing and work within the MDT delivering a patient-focused effective hysteroscopy service.

A commitment to individualised patient care, evidence-based practice, teaching, and health promotion is essential. The successful candidate will have extensive post-registration experience at AFC Band 5 and experience within a relevant specialty.

Evidence of continuing education and professional development within the relevant specialty is essential, alongside a recognised teaching qualification and a healthcare-related degree or evidence of working towards.

They will have a track record of implementing change and be a highly skilled communicator with the ability to use effective verbal, written, and IT skills to ensure patients receive timely, evidence-based care and a positive patient experience.
