    We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Nurse to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care for critically ill adults in their care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.



Main Duties:

  • Deliver the highest quality care to our sickest patients in line with our trust values.
  • As an accountable registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivering excellent care to allocated level 2 or 3 patients providing total patient care to a range of medical and surgical patients, including hepatology, infectious disease, cardiac, rheumatology, and we are a specialist surgical centre for Hepatobiliary, Vascular, and Renal surgery.
  • You will also be responsible for supporting and guiding junior nurses within the unit.


Job Responsibilities:

  • The post holder will use specialist knowledge obtained through relevant post-registration courses in caring for critically ill adults.
  • The post holder is expected to supervise junior staff and to teach qualified and unqualified staff.
  • To maintain a safe clinical environment conducive to patient care.
  • As part of our continued response to COVID-19, we are closely following Department of Health and Social Care's (DHSC) guidance and the government's proposals for new mandatory COVID-19 vaccination legislation.


Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
  • 1st/2nd level registration
  • Intensive Care Course
  • 18 months post-registration experience
  • 12 months recent ITU experience
  • 6 months experience at Band 6
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff/students


Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Can manage a group of ITU patients independently
  • Teaching and mentoring skills
  • Evidence of recent self-development
