Critical Care Nurse Opportunities at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking highly skilled Critical Care Nurses to join our dedicated team. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate the nursing care of critically ill patients, adhering to UK law, NMC code of conduct, and Trust values.


  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner, setting a good example for others.


  • Work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve excellent patient outcomes.


  • Manage a patient caseload within the defined clinical area, prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient care delivery.


  • Organise your time and that of non-registered staff, students, and other learners within the Critical Care area, promoting a positive learning environment.


  • Support senior members of staff in the management and supervision of the defined clinical area.


  • Work on Critical Care in both GRH and CGH, depending on service needs, and actively contribute to a good learning environment by taking on mentor/assessor roles for learners.

Requirements

  • Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse.


  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of a professional portfolio, registration revalidation, and commitment to lifelong learning.


  • Experience of working in an acute clinical environment, with previous experience in a relevant speciality.


  • Acts as a role model, leading by example, and able to supervise non-registered and less experienced staff to ensure effective service and care delivery.


  • Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety.


  • Commitment to developing competencies, including specialist skills, and good record keeping using the Trust's electronic and paper methods.
