Job Summary:

The Early Years Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting the management team to deliver high-quality early years education and care at West Street Nursery, a popular setting in the London Borough of Bexley. As a member of the nursery management team, you will be responsible for inspiring and leading the team to deliver outstanding results, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the management team to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote high-quality early years education and care.
  • Support the Early Years Manager in leading the team to deliver outstanding results, including developing and implementing strategies to improve outcomes for children.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety, ensuring that the nursery meets all regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with parents, carers, and the wider community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the nursery's business plan, including identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.
  • Support the management team in the recruitment, training, and development of staff, including developing and implementing training programs and providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the nursery's policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvement as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Post-qualification experience in working in early education and childcare or a similar environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate reports and correspondence.
  • The ability to inspire people to deliver results, high standards, and set clear objectives for self and the team.
