Job Title: Senior Construction Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead our construction projects across our HMO portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multisite building and refurbishment, with a proven track record of managing developments to completion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Full management of the site foreman, multiskilled tradesmen, labourers, and subcontractors on each project.
- Ability to read and assess plans and drawings.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for better efficiencies throughout the project cycle.
- Manage health, safety, environmental and quality ensuring legal compliance and adherence to company standards.
- Regularly report on progress, detailing any issues or delays and action taken to rectify.
- Full refurbishment of current and new properties with a team of skilled and unskilled labour.
- Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed within the allotted timescales and all actions recorded and assigned.
- Able to work to budgets and source labour and materials at competitive prices.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and projects are completed on time and on budget.
About You:
- Demonstrable experience of working on projects to strip back and refurbish properties to a compliant and quality finish.
- Willing to roll your sleeves up and show the team how things can be completed to a high standard - lead by example.
- A track record of managing developments to completion.
- Possess a strong background in multisite building and refurbishment.
- Utilise your commercial judgment and experience to balance risk, resolve conflicts, and find solutions that support long-term business benefits.
- Experience and knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act, Town& Country Planning, Health & Safety and Disability Discrimination Act requirements.
- Full understanding of construction drawings and be able to show and explain this information to others to ensure the spec is followed correctly.
- You should be familiar and have a working knowledge of systems to track all tasks and updates with regard to each project you are responsible for.
- Have drive and motivation to achieve the desired result and be a firm but fair leader to get the best out of your teams.
- IT skills are a must - Microsoft Office - Word, emails and our task management system which is called Asana would be a great benefit.
- You would need to be a driver with your own car - mileage will be paid through expenses.
