Job Description:

The Gatsby Plant Science Education Programme is seeking a skilled Communication Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a diverse and ambitious portfolio of UK-wide online and in-person engagement activities to inspire and nurture the next generation of plant scientists.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee initiatives for post-16 and undergraduate audiences. You will work closely with our team and external consultants to design and deliver ambitious student engagement projects, including:

  1. Developing new resources for the Plant Science Futures website to enthuse post-16 audiences across the UK with plant biology.
  2. Establishing new networks and partnerships to further the goals of the programme.
  3. Supporting the coordination of the prestigious Gatsby Plant Science summer schools for undergraduates, including development, delivery, and evaluation.
  4. Supporting alumni of the summer schools with a strategic programme of communications and career-enhancing opportunities, including online events.
  5. Overseeing the promotion, facilitation, and evaluation of careers engagement via our social media channels aimed at 16-19 year olds in the UK.
  6. Capturing the short and long-term impacts of all activities, enabling you to strategically respond to the audiences' changing needs and feed into future programme activities.

Requirements:

We are looking for a skilled professional with a proven ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences via conventional, online, and social media platforms. The post is offered to internal candidates only on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
