Adjunct Faculty Position

Norfolk State University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Department of Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching theory courses within the Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science major, as well as mentoring and advising students.
Responsibilities- Teach basic health courses, exercise science, kinesiology, and fundamental of fitness courses
- Maintain active involvement within the department, professional development, and college-wide committee work
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Movement Sciences, or Health/Physical Education, with clinical experience preferred. A Doctorate is also preferred. The candidate should have considerable knowledge of and skill in areas of Kinesiotherapy/Rehabilitative Science, Health Education, and Physical Education, as well as a broad knowledge of the remaining disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications- Skilled in the use of instructional technology and computer software related to rehabilitative exercise
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to a diverse student-body audience, both verbally and in writing, with emphasis applied to a commitment to diversity
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and evaluate a long-term rehabilitative exercise program for people transitioning out of medical treatment and physical therapy programs
- Teaching experience in several of the following areas: biomechanics, exercise physiology, lifetime fitness, health/wellness
