Transport Planner Job Description

Your new company is a market leader in the transportation of bulk products in Scotland and the North of England. They have over 150 vehicles and 600 trailers and have been established for a number of years. Due to continued growth, they are recruiting a Transport Planner to join their busy traffic office.

Your New Role

Efficient coordination of staff to ensure the transport/logistics requirements of clients are met. Maintain and improve effective relationships/interactions between clients. Co-ordination of transport resources to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and client needs. Ensure Drivers are trained and competent and have received sufficient training to fulfill their role. Achieve standards as per client requirements in documentation. Be proactive on H&S issues and maintain a seamless supply chain operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve supply chain operations
What You'll Need to Succeed

We are looking for candidates who have the ability to work to tight deadlines. Good interpersonal skills and customer-focused. You must be flexible in your approach to work and shift patterns. Good team worker and the ability to work on your own initiative where required. Have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to communicate well at all levels within the business. Knowledge of haulage industry legislation is preferred.
