We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team at GSL Education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs.
  • Coordinate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individual education plans.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, providing necessary interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with SEN regulations and policies.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN issues.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it.
Required Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special educational needs.

Key Skills:
  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Previous experience in a SEN leadership role.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working in an educational setting, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies. It may require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or events.
