We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team at GSL Education.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs.
- Coordinate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individual education plans.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, providing necessary interventions.
- Ensure compliance with SEN regulations and policies.
- Provide training and support to staff on SEN issues.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special educational needs.
Key Skills:- Understanding of SEN Code of Practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Previous experience in a SEN leadership role.
This role involves working in an educational setting, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies. It may require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or events.
