About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting school staff to recognize and respond to emerging mental health difficulties in children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Support senior mental health leads in education settings to develop whole-school approaches to mental health.
  • Provide timely advice to school staff and liaise with external specialist services to ensure children and young people receive the right support and stay in education.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to increase mental health awareness among school staff.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an IAPT 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' or children and young people's wellbeing practitioner course.
  • Experience of delivering evidence-based mental health interventions, including low-intensity cognitive behavioral therapy interventions.
  • Understanding and knowledge of psychological models of brief intervention.
