About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Support the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach.
  • Give timely advice to school and college staff, and liaise with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an IAPT 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' or children and young people's wellbeing practitioner course.
  • Experience of delivering evidence-based mental health interventions, including low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions to CYP and parents.
  • Understanding and knowledge of psychological models of brief intervention.
