About the Role

We are seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Community Stroke Team at Barts Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients recovering from strokes in their home environments.

In this role, you will assist in delivering rehabilitation programs for patients as directed by the supervising physiotherapist or occupational therapist. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting patients in their daily activities, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
  • Performing manual handling and mobility assistance to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitoring patient progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the clinical team promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a rehabilitation support worker is essential.
  • Comfortable with lone working in the community and able to travel around Tower Hamlets.
  • Physically capable of providing manual handling support to patients in their homes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and their families.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team while also functioning independently.
