About the Role
This position involves assessing learner portfolios against established marking schemes and making informed decisions on the evidence presented. The successful candidate will also be responsible for reporting performance to the Centre Manager and collaborating with the Internal Quality Assurer to develop a sampling strategy for internal quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners in planning and preparing for assessments, agreeing on timelines for evidence completion.
- Provide constructive feedback to learners on their performance and achievement, ensuring clear explanations are documented.
- Work with the Internal Quality Assurer to plan and implement a sampling strategy for internal quality assurance, including scheduling sampling dates throughout the year.
- Complete assessment forms accurately and return them to the Internal Quality Assurer and Centre Coordinator within agreed timelines.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to IOSH policies, processes, and procedures, as well as the qualification specification.
- Be aware of External Quality Assurance visits and ensure past actions have been completed.
- Apply principles of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in all situations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of quality systems, assessments, and processes, as well as assessment and training principles. They will also demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in an educational quality assurance role. A Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or equivalent is essential.
