About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in North Wales. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of individuals with various needs, including mental health issues, dementia, learning disabilities, and complex care requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care and Supervision: Deliver high-quality care and supervision in different settings, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in your care.
  • Safety Management: Monitor and address risks proactively, ensuring a secure environment.
  • Emotional Support: Provide essential emotional support and practical advice to those dealing with difficulties or distress.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with regulations.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and educators.
  • Training and Development: Participate in regular training to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.

Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health issues, dementia, elderly care, learning disabilities, or children in residential care.
  • Driving License: A full, valid driving license with access to your own vehicle.
  • Registration: You must be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
  • DBS Check: Must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Skills and Attributes
  • Empathy and Understanding: A deep understanding of the complex needs of individuals, whether they are facing mental health challenges, cognitive impairments, or require complex care.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in safeguarding regulations, risk assessments, de-escalation techniques, and the best practices associated with support work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Calm and Composed: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, providing reliable care and support.
