ASC Specialist Support Assistant – Year 5

Competitive rate of pay: £12.90 – £13.50 per hour.

Expected working hours: 08.45am – 15.15pm, Mon – Fri

We are working with a partner primary school to recruit a specialist support assistant to work with a child who requires additional support due to being on the Autism Spectrum. The role will be to continue for the foreseeable future and has the potential to move on to a permanent contract. The school has worked to ensure the child's needs are accommodated and the Curriculum has been differentiated to meet individual needs. As part of this role, you will be expected to manage routine and behaviour, requiring experience of working in UKS2 and alongside children with ASC. Additional training is preferred, but experience is vital for shortlisting. You MUST have previously worked alongside primary or secondary aged children, and you MUST have prior experience working 1:1 alongside children with ASC.

On the whole, there is a higher number of children in school with special educational needs, and the school is well equipped. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO in school to provide a high quality tailored curriculum which allows the said child to make rapid progress through the academic year.
