Location: Exeter

Contract: Full-time, temporary (opportunities to become permanent)

Salary: £90 - £95 per day

We at Long-Term Teachers Limited are proud to support a fantastic alternative provision that strongly believes in giving young people a second chance through a trauma-informed, child-centred approach. We are seeking compassionate, patient and adaptable learning mentors to support students who need time away from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis, providing personalised support around their needs, mainly social, emotional and behavioural related difficulties
  • You will support students to engage in their learning across core subjects
  • Take students off-site to engage in a range of outreach work (e.g outdoor activities, visiting attractions, exploring the local area)
  • Support students in engaging in vocational activities (e.g construction, hair dressing)
  • Help students develop their confidence and self-esteem
  • Facilitate the transition back into mainstream education
