Archives Professional for University of Edinburgh Role

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly skilled archivist to join its team in a full-time position available in Heritage Collections. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an appraisal strategy and leading on archival collections management. This will involve working closely with Heritage Collections colleagues to develop a comprehensive understanding of the University's physical and digital archival collections.
Job Description:The successful candidate will have practical experience in archival appraisal and be familiar with legislative frameworks such as Data Protection, Copyright, Health and Safety, and Equality and Diversity. They will also have experience in people management and professional relationship building, as well as a commitment to generating and sharing professional knowledge, research findings, and best practices through various media.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement an appraisal strategy for the University's archival collections
- Manage the University's archival collections, ensuring they are preserved and accessible for future generations
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues in Heritage Collections
