About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Independence Advocate to join our team at Enviva Complex Care in Suffolk.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality support and care to adults with a variety of learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, autism, acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, dementia, drug and/or alcohol problems, and offer companionship.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

As an Independence Advocate, you will play a vital role in helping individuals lead independent lives by supporting their social activities, day-to-day care, promoting independence, and encouraging support and companionship.

You will work closely with a vibrant and friendly team to provide personalized support, understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individuals with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, autism, acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, dementia, and drug and/or alcohol problems
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as household chores, personal care, and medication management
  • Encouraging independence and self-advocacy through social activities, education, and life skills training
  • Fostering positive relationships and providing emotional support to individuals and their families
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • No specific qualifications mentioned; however, a committed support worker with passion and skills to support independence is essential
  • A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (due to location)
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
