About the Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Wienerberger, you will be part of the in-house team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our brick factory at the Sandown site. Your primary focus will be on troubleshooting and performing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on specialist machinery. This dynamic role requires strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise, with a focus on maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out essential maintenance tasks
  • Assisting in developing the agility maintenance system
  • Attending breakdowns and ensuring machine safety standards are upheld
  • Installing and maintaining plant machinery
  • Improving factory overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Promoting Lean thinking and contributing to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
  • Adhering to Wienerberger's quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001

About You

We are looking for a mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing / factory environments, holding a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. You will be committed to safe working practices and have strong experience of health and safety best practice. As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you will be fit enough to perform your various duties. Additionally, you will be a team player who builds good relationships with colleagues, with good communication (written and verbal) and analytical & problem-solving skills.
