HIV Peer Support Coordinator Opportunity in East London

At Positive East, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to fill the role of Peer Support Coordinator. This part-time position will be focused on supporting individuals living with HIV across East London.

The successful candidate will work as part of our Health and Wellbeing Team, contributing to our mission of improving the quality of life for people living with HIV. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We are looking for someone who has personal experience living with HIV and is passionate about supporting others through peer support. You will play a key role in providing emotional support and guidance to individuals who have been diagnosed in Emergency Department settings or have disengaged from their HIV care.

This role requires flexibility, with regular Wednesday afternoons and evenings required at Barking Hospital's Out Patients East HIV clinic. You will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues to manage a group of trained volunteers who provide similar support services.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will also have strong organisational and time management skills, ensuring that you meet deadlines and deliver high-quality support services.

In return, you can expect a competitive salary of approximately £27,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This salary reflects the importance of this role in supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals living with HIV in East London.
