Anaesthesia Consultant

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our team. As a key member of our anaesthetic department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and efficient anaesthetic services for elective and emergency care at UHL, including preoperative assessment and postoperative care.
- Participate in the General Duties Consultant Anaesthetist non-resident on-call rota and/or weekend resident rota.
- Support the Consultant-delivered Perioperative Medicine Service and high-risk anaesthetic clinics.
- Work flexibly to support the workload and cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorized absences.
- Contribute to service development and business planning in collaboration with other Consultants in the department, the CMG, and local GPs and commissioners.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff, including professional supervision and management.
- Participate in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes, and in CPD.
- High-quality patient care and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Experience in perioperative medicine and high-risk anaesthesia.
