At ECO Magazine, we're seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our dynamic team at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC). As a key member of our Marine Physics and Ocean Climate group, you'll contribute to our mission to advance our understanding of the ocean and its impact on the world.
About the Role- Investigate North Atlantic circulation and the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) using observations, numerical modelling, and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Develop new methods for observing the AMOC as part of the MEZCAL, RAPID, and OSNAP projects.
- Conduct independent research, developing your own body of work and expertise.
- Attend international project meetings and conferences, and collaborate with US partners.
- Design and implement research projects to advance our understanding of ocean circulation and processes.
- Develop and apply machine learning techniques to ocean dynamics.
- Work with observational datasets, reanalysis products, and model output in research.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives.
