Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced Patient Service Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, their carers or guardians, and healthcare professionals.

Main Duties:
  • Assist patients with their enquiries and direct them to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
  • Manage the expectations of patients, their carers or guardians, to provide a high standard of patient-focused service.
  • Pro-actively communicate relevant information between patients and their healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Patient Services Manager in delivering safe and efficient responses to patient requirements.
  • Work in our telephone hub as the first contact for patient enquiries and appointment booking requests.
  • Make appointments by telephone and at the reception desk using a computerised system.
  • Scan and file letters, deal with clerical patient changes of address, complete forms as required, check and complete tasks as appropriate.
  • Create new patient records.
  • Control all patient files and related admin to required quality standards and in line with information governance, GDPR, and DPA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued learning/personal development in a relevant field.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQ3 in Administration or equivalent or working towards.
