The Role

Lancaster City Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our Trade Waste collection team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a financially competitive, proactive, and customer-focused residual waste and recycling collection service for businesses in the Lancaster region.

You will work alongside the members of the wider Waste and Recycling team to ensure service delivery to our customers within the district, ensuring that KPI targets are met, and a high standard of work is achieved.

The successful candidate must demonstrate good working skills and techniques with an attention to detail, the ability to work on their own initiative and with minimum supervision, but also be able to be part of the wider team.

Good computer and communication skills are essential, and you will be expected to manage your own time management and workload.

The role involves a lot of customer contact, and therefore a confident but friendly phone manner is expected, along with positive solutions to customer queries.

The post is permanent, and the hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. You will be based at White Lund Depot, Morecambe.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme, which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
