Job Title: Senior Technical Lead

Arup is a global design and business consulting firm. We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join our team in the appraisal and delivery of a major programme of capital schemes to reduce flood risk.

This role will involve leading a range of technical tasks, mentoring and supervising more junior staff members, as well as engaging in skills capacity building in technical appraisal across the firm.

The successful candidate will have experience in FCERM project appraisal, options development, and both outline design and detailed design. They will also possess skills in contract administration, project management, and client liaison, as well as excellent communication and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical tasks and projects
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff members
  • Engage in skills capacity building in technical appraisal
  • Develop and design fluvial flood risk management solutions
  • Manage project teams to ensure quality, timelines, and budget
Requirements:
  • Experience in FCERM project appraisal and options development
  • Skills in contract administration, project management, and client liaison
  • Excellent communication and technical skills
  • Experience in hydraulic modelling and/or hydrology for fluvial flood risk
  • GIS skills
