About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team at Arup. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in leading technical tasks, mentoring and supervising junior staff members, and engaging in skills capacity building in technical appraisal across the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical tasks and projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support
  • Develop and implement technical appraisal and business case development skills across the firm
  • Manage project teams to ensure production of deliverables to quality, timelines, and within budget
  • Coordinate staff resources between projects, ensuring effective utilization of skills and expertise
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
  • Support senior management in business and technical development
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification/Chartered status with either ICE or CIWEM
  • Technical experience in FCERM project appraisal, options development, and both outline design and detailed design
  • Skills in contract administration, project management, and client liaison
  • Excellent communication and technical skills, with strong financial management skills
  • Awareness of sustainability impacts of design decisions and developing understanding of nature-first solutions
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior staff
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of flood risk damages assessment and economic appraisal
  • Experience in hydraulic modeling and/or hydrology for fluvial flood risk
  • GIS skills
