Language Empire Seeks Experienced Interpreters in Hertfordshire

Established in 2001, Language Empire has been providing professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK for over 20 years. We cover hundreds of languages and dialects, catering to various industries such as politics, business, healthcare, and public service.
We are currently seeking freelance interpreters to work with us in various settings like the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations. As a self-employed interpreter, you will have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work at your own pace.
About the RoleThe role involves listening to, understanding, and memorizing content in the source language and reproducing it with 100% accuracy in the target language. You will interpret for individuals using legal, health, and local government services, ensuring seamless communication between service users and providers.
- Interpret for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Verify the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence
- Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
- Deal with highly confidential information
- Liaise between the service user and service provider
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Fluent in English and another language
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
