Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist to join our Respiratory Physiology team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the delivery of lung function, sleep, bronchoscopy, and pleural intervention services, working closely with qualified Physiologists.
  • Perform quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements on adults and children, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Loan and maintain nebuliser equipment for patients, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Prepare and issue sleep monitoring equipment to patients, ensuring timely return and proper cleaning.
  • Download overnight oximetry and WatchPAT studies, providing critical data for patient care.
  • Post out equipment for patients requiring home ventilatory support, ensuring timely delivery and return.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for loan, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Equipment Maintenance Department to ensure equipment is serviced and maintained.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • 2 science A levels or equivalent
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in performing quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as an Assistant Respiratory Physiologist
  • Experience in setting up and downloading overnight oximetry or WatchPAT studies
