CITB is seeking a Construction Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) expert to join our dynamic Product Development team. As a subject matter expert in construction HS&E principles and practices, you will be responsible for decision-making in your specific area of expertise, working collaboratively with a project team.
In this pivotal role, you will have significant impact on the strategy and development of CITB's products, ensuring alignment with current legislation/guidance, industry challenges, and focus areas. You will translate technical material into high-quality written content, applying plain English principles to ensure accessibility and relevance to diverse sector audiences. Additionally, you will perpetually develop and conduct ongoing maintenance of product content to guarantee its accuracy and up-to-date status.
Key Responsibilities
• Apply your extensive knowledge of and experience working in construction environments/sites, specifically in HS&E, to support the re-development of CITB's products and content.
• Review current product materials and carry out in-depth HS&E content research to ensure alignment with current legislation/guidance, industry challenges, and focus areas.
• Translate technical material into high-quality written content, applying plain English principles to ensure that our products are accessible and relevant to diverse sector audiences.
• Perpetually develop and conduct ongoing maintenance of product content, to ensure it remains accurate and up-to-date.
• Deliver work packages as part of a collaborative project team, meeting agreed deadlines, and being responsible for decision-making.
Requirements
An ideal candidate should have an extensive knowledge of and experience working in construction environments/sites, specifically in HS&E, along with competence and expertise to create and update content across various products, including courses, assessments, publications, and digital products. Additionally, the following qualifications would be beneficial: NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or equivalent), and membership of IOSH (or equivalent). A self-starter with excellent organisational and time-management skills, along with highly developed writing and presenting skills, is required.
