The Pharmacy Advisor will work closely with pharmacists and technical staff in the pharmacy section 10 production unit at the hospital site. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and dispensing of aseptically produced products in isolators, as well as assist with the daily monitoring and cleaning of isolators, and the monitoring of the clean room.
The Pharmacy Advisor must be flexible to working at other hospital trust sites when required to fulfill the service needs of cross-site working.
Main Responsibilities- Environmental Monitoring
- To tidy, clean and disinfect the cleanrooms and equipment according to procedures as required.
- To assist with the monitoring of the environment in Aseptic services.
- Isolator Monitoring and Cleaning
- To participate in the monitoring and cleaning rota of the isolators following standard operating procedures.
- Good Manufacturing Practice
- To comply with departmental Good manufacturing requirements of dress and hygiene relating to work in aseptic services.
- Documentation and Labeling
- To prepare documentation and labels using the pharmacy computer system.
- Transfer Disinfection
- To undertake transfer disinfection into the aseptic unit and isolators according to procedures.
- Quality Control
- To check volumes of other staff in the aseptic unit after an appropriate period of training and competence assessment.
- Rotating Shifts
- To participate in the out-of-hours, weekend and Bank Holiday rotas in Pharmacy Aseptics.

Person Specification- Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent (4/C or above).
- NVQ Pharmacy Level 2 plus accredited underpinning knowledge or equivalent.
- Knowledge of procedures for pharmacy services.
- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems.
- Good computer skills for generating labels/worksheets and using Microsoft Office tools.

- The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
