Job Overview

Palo Alto Networks is a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, and we are seeking a skilled Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist to join our team. This role will involve working closely with a globally distributed team of vulnerability researchers, reverse engineers, and threat intelligence analysts to track advanced persistent threats and provide timely and actionable intelligence to support customer intelligence requirements.

About the Team

The Unit 42 National Security Team (NATSEC) is a highly skilled team of vulnerability researchers, reverse engineers, and threat intelligence analysts who work together to track advanced persistent threats and provide timely and actionable intelligence to support customer intelligence requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tracking advanced persistent threats and providing timely and actionable intelligence to support customer intelligence requirements.
  • Analyzing and developing coverage for emerging threats, using global datasets (netflow, malware, passive DNS, etc).
  • Collaborating with a global team of threat intelligence analysts to analyze and develop coverage for emerging threats.
  • Developing strategic threat assessments in support of customer needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience as a cleared cyber threat intelligence analyst.
  • Experience working with government agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of Russian nation-state advanced persistent threat groups, particularly their tactics, techniques, procedures, tooling, and noteworthy attacks.
  • Familiarity with common tactics, techniques, and procedures used by cyber threat actors to conduct network reconnaissance and intrusions, including knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Matrix for enterprise and individual techniques.
  • Experience leveraging netflow, passive DNS, IP registration, malware telemetry, and other data sets to form comprehensive threat assessments.
  • Excellent time management, often working under tight deadlines and multiple assignments.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
