About the Role

As an Employee Relations Specialist at SSP Group, you will provide professional front-line employee relations advice and support to Management Teams on all aspects of employee relations, colleague welfare, performance management, people policies, data protection, and right to work legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on employee relations, including ACAS guidelines, performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, whistleblowing, and appeals.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of SSP Group's people policies and guides, including maternity, adoption, paternity, shared parental leave, compassionate leave, equality and diversity, attendance management, and right to work in the UK.
  • Support front-line managers with employment issues relating to working time regulations, fixed-term contracts, probation periods, hours consultations, redundancy consultations, and flexible working.
  • Network and review latest legal updates to ensure knowledge remains current.

Requirements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation and best practice.
  • Great listener with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good administrative and IT skills.
  • Experience in letter writing and ability to build key working relationships and influence colleagues at all levels.
  • CIPD Qualified or experience in HR Function or Operations with a strong ER record.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on employee relations, people policies, and employment legislation. You will work closely with Management Teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provide training and guidance to front-line managers on employee relations and people policies.
