Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician at Arla Foods Deutschland GmbH, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our dairy products. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and evaluate products and materials to ensure compliance with quality and approved analysis standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct chemical and microbiological analysis of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished goods
  • Perform micro analysis of samples using specified methods
  • Participate in product sensory panels to meet quality requirements
  • Ensure all quality and food safety checks are completed satisfactorily
  • Communicate results outside of specification to the Technical Team for corrective actions
  • Manage the Non-conformance data base
  • Ensure all tasks are completed daily, weekly, and monthly as per schedule
  • Control Training Matrix and ensure all trainings are up to date
  • Ensure all Laboratory Documents are up to date
  • Ensure compliance against laboratory standards and procedures
  • Maintain and calibrate analytical equipment to required standards and schedules
  • Verify raw materials and chemicals used within the laboratory are within acceptable date criteria

Requirements:

  • Practical experience of Good Laboratory Practices
  • Microbiology testing experience is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment working within QA/Sensory
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels within the business and external contractors
  • PC literate with the ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work on the shift pattern (12h day shift including weekends and Bank holidays)
  • Ability to be on the "On Call roster" for weekend cover
