About the Role
Cygnet Health Care is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Trinity House. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals for residents
- Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties as required
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room
- Wash utensils, dishes, and store them appropriately
- Rotate stock and put away all deliveries
- Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
- Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
- Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
Requirements
- Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting
- Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member
- Polite and professional, with a positive attitude at all times
- Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
- Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
- Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, and under supervision
