Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on trade finance matters, including drafting and negotiating bilateral and syndicated facilities, managing documentary credits, standby credits, and guarantees, and facilitating tri-partite agreements between traders, brokers/members, and financing banks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their trade finance requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes, ensuring that clients receive the best possible advice and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver high-quality services to clients, including lawyers from the general business group.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Trade Finance Lawyer who has a strong background in general banking, particularly in trade finance and asset-based lending. You will have a proven track record of success in advising clients on complex trade finance transactions and a deep understanding of the industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade finance, with a focus on structured trade finance.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance laws and regulations, including documentary credits, standby credits, and guarantees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
