Teaching Assistant (Upper Key Stage 2) Job Summary

The Meads Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 team. This is a fixed-term position, up to one year, with the potential to become permanent at a later date.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and/or SENCO to provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, using structured intervention programmes and in-class support.

The successful candidate will:
  • Work collaboratively with the teacher to create an effective learning environment;
  • Use initiative and take responsibility for leading learning activities;
  • Explain concepts clearly and concisely, adapting to individual learning needs;
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils during activities;
  • Model and reinforce good behaviour and values;
  • Work with the teacher to differentiate support for pupils;
  • Be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the school and its pupils.
  • Have a good level of Maths and English to support children in Year 5/6.
