Job Description

Trevett Professional Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our engineering services, ensuring the smooth running of our facilities and meeting the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions, and that both clients and Company health and safety processes are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.
  • Manage the development of contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth.
  • Ensure customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.
  • Support the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support mobilisation as required on new contracts.
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision, operations, and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical plant services, primarily PPM and reactive works.
  • Manage the daily management of engineering team day and shift engineers, and direct, instruct, and supervise all contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the collection of weekly building loads readings, and carry out load assessments on UPS, HV/LV systems, reporting any major inconsistencies or abnormalities.
  • Monitor critical areas for cleanliness, ensuring plant rooms and equipment are regularly checked, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Assist the project team with all technical and operational problems that may arise.
Requirements
  • Full apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical discipline, with Mechanical being desired due to the nature of the operation.
  • Proven experience in the management of business-critical engineering systems.
  • Experience of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.
  • Good all-round knowledge of general building works, diagnostic, and repair procedures.
  • Competent at interpreting statutory regulations and guidance.
  • A strong and committed team player, capable of prioritising and solving problems, utilising innovative solutions.
  • Must be well-organised with good task management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Able to change work patterns at short notice to meet the requirements of the client.
  • Sound understanding of both HTMs and relevant British Standards related to Building Services.
Desirable
  • Experience of maintaining CHP plant, boilers, and steam generation plant.
  • Good knowledge of PSSR 2000.
