Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Homelessness Prevention Assessment Officer to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality homeless prevention support and advice to households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assessments to customers presenting to the Council to determine their housing needs and options.
  • Develop and implement effective homeless prevention strategies to prevent homelessness within the borough.
  • Provide advice and information to customers on their housing rights and obligations under legislation and Council policy.
  • Investigate landlord and tenant disputes, including allegations of harassment and illegal eviction.
  • Provide information about debt counselling and money advice services to customers in rent or mortgage arrears.

Requirements:

  • Three years of statutory homelessness experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of homelessness legislation and duties owed to homeless persons by the Council.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Code of Guidance and relevant case law.
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and the welfare benefit system.
