About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Volunteer Services Project Manager to join our team at C2 Charity Recruitment - Non-Profit Recruitment Specialists. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a comprehensive volunteer strategy that aligns with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Volunteer Strategy: Work closely with our Director of People and Culture to design and improve a comprehensive hospice volunteering service, ensuring that volunteering is at the heart of our future workforce plans and meets the needs of our organizational strategy.
  • Attract and Onboard Volunteers: Develop a strategic attraction and onboarding approach, including an annual advertising calendar and promotion of hospice volunteering at promotional events, to ensure a diverse and inclusive volunteer workforce.
  • Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: Implement plans that place equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of volunteering, making changes and recommendations to departments and helping managers to actively attract people from diverse backgrounds, including those with a learning difficulty/disability, mental health, and neurodiversity.
  • Policies and Procedures: Create and update policies, procedures, and guidelines as required, with reference to the volunteer workforce, to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Volunteer Budget and Support: Hold the volunteer budget and monitor use of funds, providing support to the volunteer team, including 1-2-1 sessions, appraisals for staff, and reviews for volunteers.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Qualification or Equivalent Experience: A postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of experience in volunteer management, HR management, or organizational development.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development in project management, including training and coaching others.
  • Volunteer Management Experience: Experience of developing volunteer/people strategy to ensure the organization is resourced with a skilled and effective workforce.
  • Leadership and Delegation: Ability to lead with honesty, integrity, and care, develop, empower, and delegate effectively to achieve change and generate a positive, inclusive workplace.
  • Accountability and Creativity: Be accountable for actions and bring creativity and innovation to inspire and motivate others.
