Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in North Tyneside. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEND: Assist students with learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities in a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Assist in lessons and activities: Work closely with teachers to deliver lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Develop relationships: Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Communicate effectively: Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure seamless support and progress.
- Safeguarding: Understand and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and safety of students.
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEND students: Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Knowledge of EHCPs: Understanding of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
