We are seeking a highly skilled Collections Data Officer to join our team at the National Trust. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the data in our Collections Management System (CMS) is accurate and up-to-date.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about preserving history and working with cultural heritage. As a Collections Data Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and development of data standards and procedures for our collections.
You will work closely with our conservation scientist, collection management and information team, property teams, conservators, curators, and building surveyors to identify, collate, and organize our paint samples.
This may involve occasional travel to where our collections are stored, which may require overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities- Support the creation of data and the relocation of samples by coordinating with Trust colleagues and external institutions and consultants.
- Use your expertise in system procedures to support new ways of working for how our paint samples, conservation science data, and information are managed.
- Create and deliver training to ensure that our team members have the necessary skills to manage our collections effectively.
- Monitor the progress of data creation and quality, and the relocation of samples in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of collections management systems and data, as well as knowledge of collections management procedures and documentation standards.
You should also have advanced IT skills, including using Excel to manage and manipulate data, and be able to plan and prioritize work effectively to ensure delivery to deadlines.
Furthermore, you should be able to work as part of a team, sharing ideas and learning, and be able to support system users and deliver training and workshops.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The salary range has been calculated based on the job requirements and the national average salary for similar roles in the UK.
