Acute Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist Position

About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our Acute Paediatric team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy to babies and children with complex needs, including communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Represent the Speech and Language Therapy service within Paediatrics, contributing to service development and research initiatives.
- Support patients and families through instrumental assessments and therapy sessions, promoting independence and empowerment.
Requirements
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with a degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Masters level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
- Experience of working with babies and children with complex communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Ability to communicate complex information fluently and effectively to a diverse range of people.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and families.
