About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Acute Paediatric team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in children with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct instrumental assessments and provide training and support to less experienced staff.
  • Represent the SLT service within Paediatrics and contribute to service development and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with a degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with children with complex communication and swallowing difficulties in an acute setting.
  • Ability to communicate complex information fluently and effectively to a diverse range of people.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
