About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team as an Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of Repairs and Maintenance contracts, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth administration of the contract from start-up through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and understand contract obligations, responsibilities, and liabilities, providing advice and guidance to the site team as needed.
  • Be aware of and understand contract documents, including settlement adjustments, and be fully briefed on the contract estimate.
  • Ensure site staff adhere to agreed site procedures and reporting systems, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Prepare and produce reports to predetermined deadlines, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Administer the contract, from start-up through to final account, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Archive essential project documentation, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Deliver the project to the Client's satisfaction, working closely with the Project Manager.
  • Delegate and allocate Quantity Surveying tasks to Assistant Quantity Surveyors, setting objectives and monitoring progress.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to the resolution of commercial, contractual, and construction problems.
  • Pursue prompt payment for work executed, protecting the Company's commercial interests.
Requirements
  • Experience working with NEC Option A.
  • Extensive experience working within a social housing contractor.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Conscientious.
  • Good commercial acumen.
