About the Role - Financial Affairs Officer

This role plays a vital part in managing the financial affairs of vulnerable adults receiving care services within Kent. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality advice on daily finances, including paying bills, making benefit claims, managing bank accounts, and liaising with utility providers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Front-facing role for contact with the public, handling high volumes of inquiries promptly and sensitively using a customer-focused approach.
  • Submit accurate applications to external agencies, such as the Department for Work and Pensions for Appointeeship and the Court of Protection for Deputyship.
  • Identify benefits people are entitled to and make claims accordingly.
  • Prepare and implement financial plans regarding expenditure and income, including comprehensive budgets to ensure effective financial management.
  • Complete annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian on individuals' financial positions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an administrative environment or front-facing service.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • A positive individual able to remain confidential at all times.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Able to effectively manage customer inquiries and adapt communication style if needed.

Benefits:

  • No weekend working.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00.
  • Hybrid after training.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
