Job Title: Welder/Fabricator (Great Yarmouth)

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team at NOV HydraRig in Great Yarmouth. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for the assembly and welding of component parts to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to achieve high-quality finishes in the assembly and welding of component parts
  • Fabricate and assemble components using SMAW and GMAW processes
  • Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals
  • Be proficient in the use of all welding equipment, machinery, and tooling used in the Fabrication Shop
  • Work to weekly production schedules, highlighting any key areas that may prevent achieving daily targets
  • Interpret weld procedures, engineering drawings, and materials to determine the most efficient and cost-effective solutions
  • Maintain welder traceability and follow recognized procedures for issuing and returning of welding consumables
  • Accurately complete details on time sheets and return them to the Supervisor daily and on completion of specific jobs
  • Participate in resolving assembly and production issues and minimize waste by using and disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently

Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship or HND in a relevant subject (desirable)
  • Working knowledge within a welding and manufacturing environment, including the preparation of components (essential)
  • Working knowledge of offshore skid manufacturing processes (desirable)

Skills, Training, or Special Knowledge:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings (essential)
  • Fabrication techniques (essential)
  • MiG, Tig, oxy-acetylene welding, and cutting (essential)
