Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at MAHLE. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for ensuring all parts and services are procured in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Liaise with SQE to ensure any issues are documented and resolved efficiently.
  2. Ensure parts are delivered on time to specification to minimize business risk.
  3. Ability to balance varied workload.
  4. Support Vendor onboarding to MAHLE processes.
  5. Help develop the supply chain as we diversify from traditional ICE units to support a wide range of powertrain technologies.
  6. Build relationships with suppliers to ensure the balance of cost, lead time, and quality matches project requirements.
  7. Work closely with the engineering team and other internal stakeholders to support the range of projects taking place at MPT Northampton.
  8. Execute procurement activities to comply with MAHLE processes, while ensuring project deliverables are met in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in MS Office, are essential.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of Windchill or similar PDM/PLM system is desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • General understanding of Markets, Products & Commodities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record in purchasing.
  • Good contract law knowledge is desirable.
